A Case of Myasthenia Gravis

Abstract

|
A case of myasthenia gravis, 41 years old male, was presented in this paper. He was admitted because of dyspnea, swallowing difficulty, ptosis of eyelid, generalized muscle weakness and fatigability of 5 months duration.
Physical examination revealed difficulty of extension and flexion of elbow joint, difficulty of sitting and standing and eyelids movement. Laboratory findings were no specific.
The patients had remarkable response with neostigmine injection for 4 hours only. No definite etiological cause was suspected such as thymus disorder and thyroid disease. On third hospital day, he had myasthenia crisiss with severe dyspnea attack but recovered on following day with endotracheal intubation, oxygen inhalation; neostigmine injection and 80mg. of prednisolone injection.
